Hi everyone and thanks for visiting my page,
Well the day is nearly upon us 10 more days until i run 26.2 miles. When you say it like that it's as scary as it was when i first started training back in January. As the advertisements and posters on the tube grow in number, as well as the BBC starting to promote the live coverage of the event the is a very real sense down in London that the city is gearing up for what i am told will be a great day with a great atmosphere. I cant help but think only this applies slightly more to the people cheering from the sidelines and enjoying Fullers breweries sponsorship of the event in liquid form, rather than those misguided souls like me, who instead thought running the race would be a better idea. I can only hope that after 26 miles i am still in a fit state to appreciate the cheering and the beer after!
My training has gone pretty well though i would have liked to have covered more miles. Unfortunately a minor yet persistent injury to my left ankle has hampered my progress in recent weeks. Because of this niggle and in order to give myself the best possible chance of doing well on the day there will be no more long distance training. Its so important to me that i finish this race and i determined that nothing will prevent me from doing that, even if it hurts like hell which i fear it may in the 2nd half of the race.
As this will be my final post on this page before the race I would like to say a massive thanks to everyone who has supported me and Springboard for Children. In particular to my parents who there own generosity and sponsored car wash have raised £350. Your donations are greatly appreciated by knowing im running to raise this money will spur me on im sure. If your reading this page and have not yet got round to sponsoring me then please do. No amount is to small and its all for a fantastic cause
