I lost my husband Phil Maton on the 26th of January , Phil was one of the first patients to be able to use the new Hospice, Phil had been in the old one and was so impressed with all the doctors support and the care the nurses gave to make him and all the family feel at home. We even celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary there and I was asked if I would like to stay the night both phil and I were touched at the kidness that was shown. He was so proud to have been one of the first in-patients in the new Hospice and was even more proud to have had his picture taken for the paper, Sadly he passed away on the Friday after but I felt Phil would of wanted everyone to know about the suport and services the Hospice can provide.
Phil will be saying "Come on Girls put your back into it" He had a great sense of humour.
I first herd about the walk through my contact with the hospice and asked if some of our friends would like to join me in the walk so now we have a team of 5 if anyone else wants to join Phils Girls please let me know. Its been a crash course of training more like walking the dogs and running around after the children but that keeps me fit .
