Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In the Ugandan village of Mityana early last year (2007) over 20 young children died in a most horrific incident involving a school fire resulting from poor candle light safety in the close proximity of mosquito netting. Unfortuanately, for the children's own security, the dormatory's doors were locked with no possibility for escape.
Mityana has no reliable power source so candle light is normal community practice as is the use of mosquito nets for the prevention of malaria.
It is my intention, as part of a UK team of education practioners, to deliver fire safety advice to local communities in and around Mityana and Kampala in June 2010
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mityana Community Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
As this essential trip is on a purely voluntary basis your kind donation will go towards education resources, flights and travel visas for myself and other team members.
Your help, however small, will be greatly appreciated by all.
Thank you.
Phil
