Please sponsor my marathon run, to help young people in Uganda and Kenya realise their true potential.
I've worked in Africa for over 20 years. While I know that overcoming poverty is difficult and can be very complex, I also know from personal experience that simple solutions can lead to powerful results. That is why I support Build Africa, which succeeds because it believes in keeping things simple and staying focused.
It is focused on just a few districts in Kenya and Uganda, which allows it to get to know people and communities well.
It is focused firmly on only two sectors: Education and Entrepreneurship. This means its staff can develop deep expertise in these two areas, instead of trying to know a little about a lot.
Helping young people from poor families takes time and persistence - and so does training for and running a marathon. Please help me to stay motivated as I prepare for my first ever marathon on 26th April this year, by making a donation to help Build Africa.
