Story

Hello All

I completed my amazing tandem parchute jump this morning at long last. The previous 2 occasions have seen it cancelled due to the weather(typical English summer). So today when i woke and saw the day was amazing, i knew it was on.  It was a bit of a rush to the plane. I was told i was the last one holding up the jump (I had been relaxing in the holding area whilst others were getting ready! oops. Within 10 mins of being told i was going, i had my suit on and was sat on the plane. Unfortunately, due to the very quick turn around, it meant that no-one who was due to be there was actually there - i made a frantic call to Kim(my wife) saying get here quick and although she was due to be leaving very soon with a couple of our friends also coming over, the time it would take to get to me meant that they would not be there on time to see it.

This means that i only have 1 photo of me in my suit after the jump and i also have the certificate to prove it in case you think i bottled. Would I!!???!

No chance - This was an amazing rush of adrenalin, the short flight to approx 12000 feet was quick and relaxed. When the door opened it became real and i got myself into the correct position and i was 3rd out of the plane. The chilly wind made it very real and i could faintly hear myself as we were falling through the sky at 200mph saying WOW!!!!

Once the parachute was up, about 30seconds, it became so peaceful that it was very relaxing, honestly it was....

We finshed off the rest of the descent with the instructor pointing out landmarks and then some spiralling(Spinning). BRILLIANT.

I am so pleased that i did this and recommend it to anyone.

Thank you to everyone for sponsoring me to do this and raise lots of money for my chosen charity.

You never know, i may have the bug to do another one soon.

Each year many thousands of men, women and children become disabled due to an accident or illness. WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and helps these people and many others with disabilities to achieve their sporting dreams. We aim to raise £6-million, enough money to provide over two thousand sports wheelchairs to disabled children and young adults by the time the Paralympics return ‘home’ in August 2012.

I would also really appreciate it if you could send this link onto as many people as possible to help me achieve my fundraising target..
