Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beechwood Cancer Care Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I have recently started medication for Diabetes and really need to lose a lot of weight to improve my health. One of my mates gets married on 29th of May 2009 and has challenged me to get down to 14 stone which is a loss of around 6 stone in 11 months. I am very determined and by doing this would benefit myself as well as Beechwood
The Beechwood Cancer Care Centre helps anyone whose lives have been affected by the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The centre offers a range of free support including: 1 to 1 talk time, complementary therapies, and group sessions to help patients, family members, and carers cope with everything and anything they may have to face.
I have chosen to raise money for the Beechwood Cancer Care Centre as it helped my mum immeasurably through her illness and despite being initially a little sceptical about attending the centre (thinking that there were other people more in need than her!), she went along and grew very fond of the place. She enjoyed talking to people who were sharing similar experiences and especially looked forward to enjoying the reflexology sessions. Come to think of it, if nothing else, any place that would touch my mum’s feet for free deserves some charitable support!!
As a carer, my dad was also welcomed to the centre and even learnt how to perform Reiki, which he used at home to relax mum when she was having a tough day. I can still hear the waterfall cds now!
Since mum passed away in August 2007, Beechwood have continued to extend their care and ensured that dad felt supported to attend the bereavement group, where folk can enjoy spending some time together in a social and relaxed setting.
Beechwood is a place that is very close to the hearts of all our family and relies on fundraising to continue to provide its services to those who need it.
Thank you for your support.
So please sponsor me now!
