I am swapping my High Heels for my Running Shoes again :-)

Here I am again running for another fantastic cause - This one is bigger and better than the last though! On May 21st I am travelling to New York City to run two half marathons in two days in Uniform around Central Park.  As well as being very excited it is going to be a challenge and experience I will never forget.  There is a team of over 100 Police Officers, and staff from the Metropolitan Police, Essex Police, British Transport Police, Sussex Police, Cambridgeshire Police, and British Airways are all joining in.

So who's Jack Brown you may say? Jack Brown is a seven year old litte boy who had Neuroblastoma - the childhood form of Cancer. Unfortunately Jack passed away on the 4th May.

Neuroblastoma is a solid tumor cancer that begins in the nerve tissue of the neck, chest, abdomen, or pelvis but usually originates in the abdomen in the tissue of the adrenal gland.  Neuroblastoma rapidly spreads through the body, making it difficult to treat.

Jack first made a trip to New York in May of 2006 for three reasons, reasons that intertwine.
• The UK offered nothing else beyond what he had already received – no cures.
• New York held hope through novel therapies and a commitment to research.
• Jack was Jack and had fought hard for too long to retain his essence and quell the cancer.

The aim of the Fundraising this year is to pay for the treatment of this Cancer in the UK.  The run is now ever more important to us!
