Update...........
On Saturday 4 September 2010 17 cyclists left Coulport and cycled the 50 miles to Glasgow High Court.
Thanks to everyone who has donated online or sponsored us in the old fashioned handing over cash method. Your generosity is appreciated.
Come on.......anyone who knows any of the group and who hasn't yet made a donation please do so. We want to make this our best year ever. That means we need to raise well over £3,000. Go on. Help us make a difference.
Thanks
Last year Pigs on Bikes raised over £1,600 for Erskine. This year we hope to be bigger and better.
For 2010 we're revisiting the route of our first ever charity cycle run of 2000 and starting off at the naval base at Coulport and we'll cycle around the Rosneath Peninsula, through Garelochhead, past Faslane naval base and on through Helensburgh and Dumbarton into Glasgow city centre. In order to make the run even more relevant to our chosen charity we'll take a detour over the Erskine Bridge and stop off for lunch at the new Garden Centre & Coffee Shop at the Erskine Home. Total distance is around 50 miles.
The group is made up of officers from across Strathclyde Police including the Courts Branch, North Lanarkshire Division, G Division and Force Training. And this year, for the first time, we are joined by our first 'police pensioner' who has been with us since 2000 and has taken part in the majority of our runs.
Erskine is an excellent facility and provides care for ex-service men and women both young and old.
Any donation is greatly appreciated by Pigs on Bikes and is put to good use by Erskine. Please give anything you can to help us achieve our target and to help support those who have given so much.
Feel free to mention which group member you are donating on behalf of.
Many thanks.
