Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Dave Sykes a paraplegic pilot and adventurer, in March 2015 i am to set off on an epic microlight expedition from York England and fly a microlight aircraft SOLO with no air or ground support to the North Pole.

This expedition has never been done before so will be world record, The trip will set off mid March down through England then across the channel to Calais.

then from Calais i will be heading up through Holland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and then into Norway.

Once in Norway it is a 500 mile crossing over the Barents sea to Svalbard flying over icebergs and temperatures down as low as -60 degrees.

from Svalbard its a 800 mile crossing over the Polar icecap to a Russian ice station before landing at the North Pole.

then return the same route.
