In March 2008 I will be competing in the Marathon Des Sables. This is a 150mile footrace across theSaharadesert and is known by many to be the toughest footrace on Earth.

Run over 6 days, it is the equivalent of running 6 marathons back-to-back in temperatures ranging from 130degress F to almost freezing.

I will be self sufficient and will have to carry all my equipment including food, clothing and emergency equipment in a pack weighting 15kg

Why am I doing this you may ask? I am doing it to support a charity very close to my heart. This charity is Macmillan Cancer Relief. A charity that gave much needed support to my brother and his family when he discovered he had skin cancer 5 years ago.

Everyone I have spoken to knows of someone who has had to deal with Cancer, so I ask if you can give generously and support myself and a well deserved charity
