Late last year my brother Daniel died from the cancer called malignant melanoma. In response to this James (Daniel's twin) Dominic his friend and I decided to do a cycle tour whilst raising money for The Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund, which is a great cause whose aims include informing the public about the causes and dreadful effects/consequences of this disease.
Both Myfanwy and Daniel were positive, strong and determined to enjoy life. Daniel fought hard against his cancer and lived each day fully using what time he had left to explore and discover all he could of the earth and it's amazing beauty. The journey we shall be taking skirts round the south coast of Ireland, following the route taken by Daniel and I on the first ever holiday we went on together back in the summer of 95. Our tour will cover 300 miles in a week.
It won't be as easy this time for we won't have the luxury of a car instead only leg power and our trusty bicycles.
