Hello! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm taking part in The Ocean Youth Trust Scotland Young Leaders Iceland Challenge.  We will depart from Kyle of Lochalsh on 29th June on the 700 mile journey aboard Alba Explorer across the North Atlantic, accompanied by two professional and four volunteer sea-staff.

This voyage is part of a Young Leaders Development Programme for the OYT and afterwards I will have gained my Watchleader syllabus which will allow me in the future to help other young people and become a volunteer for The OYT.    I was lucky to be invited to apply and consequently chosen, because I will experience the challenge of sailing non stop for several days being totally self sufficient. Also I will have to rely on the other members of the crew and be relied upon so that we have the thrill of arriving in a foreign port after days at sea. This experience will allow me to develop valuable team working skills, sailing skills and a qualification.

To do this we need to raise £500 each. So far I've; asked at the shops in Maybole for sponsorship, helping out a jumble sale in April and Bagpacking in Maybole on 9 May.
