Hi there and many thanks to you for taking the time to visit my 'Potterspotter' JustGiving page
You're probably as aware as I am of the extreme price that some of our brave servicemen and servicewomen of the British Armed Forces are paying. They live their lives protecting us that stay at home - and too many of them are paying the most extreme price of all, by losing their lives.
The sight of coffin after coffin arriving at Wootton Bassett brings it home to us what's happening to our brave men and women and my heart goes out to all of the family and friends of those who have died. In fact, I will be thinking especially of my close friends and colleagues who died in Afghanistan during 2009: they are Simon Valentine, James Fullarton, Simon Annis, Louis Carter, Joseph Etchells, Petero Suesue and Shaun Bush. All served in the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
My first chosen charity is the Forces Children's Trust. This charity is devoted to helping dependent children that have lost a parent whilst serving with the Armed Forces. My second charity is the Fusilier Aid Society. While all of the money donated on this page will go directly to the Forces Children's Trust, the total amount raised will be split equally between these 2 very worthy charities.
Your support and donations will really help to keep me motivated as I walk the many hundreds of miles between John O'Groats and Land's End. I'll be keeping you updated on how I'm getting on during April. Don't forget that you can also get more information and join in the fun of becoming a 'potterspotter' by joining my Fan Page on facebook - 'Potter Spotter'.
Thanks a million for being interested - I really hope that you're able to donate to my worthy cause. No amount is too small.
Many thanks and see you on facebook...
Nigel Potter
