My story

Hello,

Many people do the infamous Land's End to John O' Groats bike ride. But how many do it with wider environmental implications in mind? The bicycle is one of the most efficient machines ever produced and is powered by renewable energy...but where does the food come from to power the cyclist?

Jonathan, Alice and Kate are doing this ride to raise awareness of climate change, local food, organic farming, organic clothing and reducing our ecological footprint. They will be eating local organic food throughout the ride, wearing organic clothing and of course be minimising their carbon footprints. We will also be encouraging more young people to enter in to a career in organic farming.

The ride is planned to take 13 days, averaging about 70 miles a day.  For more details visit our website, www.powertopedal.org.uk.

Thanks for your support, which World Land Trust will use to protect some of the most biologically diverse and threatened lands on the planet, buying it up acre by acre, for perpetuity. Destruction of rainforests creates the second largest man-made release of carbon dioxide on the planet.

Best wishes,

Jonathan
