Hi there,

Thanks for coming to my page...........

I've got a bit of bad news though. I got a knee injury 10 weeks into my training plan. It's a very common running injury and it's also treatable but unfortunately, it's not going to be OK in time for this year's London Marathon. I can't run more than a mile at the moment without it getting really painful and I have missed over 100 miles of training.  It's not been easy for me to accept I can't do it this time, but medical advice must be listened to. I love running too much to take any risks that might mean I end up with a permanent injury.

There's some good news though! My place has been deferred until next year. This gives me another year to keep raising more money for the Big Issue Foundation, get some proper treatment for my knee and I'll get even more time for training once I'm back up and running.
.......AND of course, I can have a go at making another video!!  ;o)

So I'll be continuing to fundraise in a variety of different ways including running many more races over the next year for The Big Issue, all different distances. Watch this space.......!

Hi, and thanks very much for coming to my fundraising page, please also check out my video by clicking on the My video (1) link underneath the photo on the left!!

I'm working hard towards running in this year's London Marathon. I'll have run 525 miles in training before race day on Sunday 25 April.

By running the marathon, I'm raising money for THE BIG ISSUE FOUNDATION. I've only been running for about 18 months. I totally love it though and you'll see me out in the rain and the snow. I've run in a few races but never more than 10k, so this is going to be a challenge, but it's for a great cause........

The BIG ISSUE exists to offer homeless and vulnerably housed people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income. They produce a weekly entertainment and current affairs magazine which vendors buy for 75p and sell to the public for £1.50, keeping 75p for themselves.

The BIG ISSUE believes in "A hand up, not a hand out" but also recognises that earning an income is the first step on the journey away from homelessness.

The BIG ISSUE FOUNDATION currently supports about 2900 homeless and vulnerably housed people as vendors all over the country. BIG ISSUE vendors have one of the toughest jobs going. It takes a lot of guts and determination to stand up and face the public as a visibly homeless person.

So, on April 25th, I'll be running the London Marathon raising money for THE BIG ISSUE FOUNDATION. I'm asking you to support this great cause by sponsoring me. It's really easy, just click on the tab below and follow the instructions......and no amount is too small. Your sponsorship will go towards helping homeless people re-build their lives.

I got the Marathon place through Tesco. The great news is that because I work for Tesco, they'll top up any sponsorship donations by 20%.

Please remember that THE BIG ISSUE is about giving "A hand up, not a hand out"

Thanks very much for your support
