My story

Hi Thanks so much for visiting my page,

As most of you probably know our beautiful baby girl Phoebe recently underwent a life saving operation at Alderhey Childrens hospital. On the 19th March at just 3 weeks old Phoebe was rushed from Bolton Hospital to Alderhey, she was unable to breath for herself and had been diagnosed as having a congenital heart defect known as ALCAPA- her coronry artery was attatched to her pulmonary artery meaning that her heart was pumping de oxygenated blood to her lungs- we were told her condition was life threatening and that surgery would be needed to save her life. Needless to say we were terrified.........

On arrival at Alderhey Phoebe was stable ane myself and Carl where shown to 'Mac House'- an amazing hotel like building where families can stay whilst their child is in hospital. Had this facility not been available we would have been sleeping on chairs at Phoebes bedside. Mac house allows families to be 2 minuites away from their sick child giving a little peace of mind at such a horrendous time, it alo means that your other children have somewhere to stay and play so you dont have the added feelings of being torn between your sick and healthy children. I truly could go on forever about how amazing Mac house is but i wont....

I will however ask you to donate genrously to allow the building to keep providing a home from home for families of sick children.

Phobe is home now and is geting stronger each day, thankyou all gor your support xxx

Hi we have exceeded the 500.00 we originally set out o raise thnks to the generosity of everyone.Aside from the 10k we organised a spinathon and hope that the money raised from that will push the total over 3000- £3,500 and phoebe can sponsor a room at McDonald house for a year!

Did 10k this morning with my wonderful running buddy/coach cath.I'm really pleased with the way my training is going. We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of not only our friends and family but also of people we have never met your money is going to a truly amazing cause.

Ran in the rain and hail this morning then came home to a beautiful smile from my gorgeous girl.... It makes it all worth while.

Hello to all you wonderful people who have taken the time to look at this page and donate, we are truly great full. Training is going well. My aim is to do the 10k in under 60 mins. When it gets hard I just have to think of how stong our beautiful baby girl is. X

Ronald McDonald House provides free accommodation for parents/carers of critically ill children being treated at Alder Hey. We opened 20 years ago and have accommodated over 20,000 families in our 84 family rooms. Our running costs are £600k pa and is raised totally by voluntary contributions.
