We need to improve and extend our outdoor facilities for rescue rabbits awaiting re-homing. This will improve the quality of life of our rabbits during their time with us, and will allow us to successfully take in many more rabbits in desperate need of a safe haven due to abandonment and neglect.
Despite being the third most popular pet rabbits have been identified as the most neglected pet animal in the UK. At least 35,000 rabbits enter UK rescue shelters each year. There is virtually no rescue support available for rabbits in our local area. Therefore, the competition for rescue spaces in huge.
Hundreds of healthy rabbits are being euthanased in our local area each year due to a lack of rescue spaces.
