How far would you go to get your show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival? We'd go across the United States. By bicycle

In November 2012 the puppets of Theatre Témoin's The Fantasist are cycling across the Southern USA (between 3000-3500 miles) in about 8 weeks to raise funds to take the show up to the Edinburgh Festival and get it on its way touring. We also want to raise awareness of mental health and cycling, that physical and mental health go hand in hand. So we're donating 10% of all proceeds to Mind for all the great work they do.

The Fantasist is an exploration of the murky depths and glorious heights of bipolar illness through a blend of puppetry, original music and physical theatre. In February and March we had hugely successful run at the Blue Elephant Theatre, where we were nominated for an Off West End Award for Best Sound Design and got some great reviews :

Top Ten Theatre Shows to see at the Edinburgh Fringe - Spoonfed.

Now we’ve got a slot in the wonderful Underbelly’s The Dairy Room, for the entire run of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (1st – 26th August at 12.25pm – have a look here : https://www.underbelly.co.uk/node/787516).

But we need your help ! We need to fundraise £2100 at the very minimum to cover the costs to take the 7 puppets (& incidental puppeteers/performers/technician) to the festival. Sponsor a puppet today ! Whatever you can spare really makes a great difference!

The Festival is regarded as ‘the arts Olympics of the world’ (in Mark Fisher’s brilliant book The Edinburgh Fringe Survival Guide) so help us in our Olympian preparation for an Olympian event…
