On August 8, 2010, Brennan William Coletta entered the world 3 months early weighing only 970g (2lbs). Although not ideal, as breathing, eating, and fighting infection is not what a 28-week gestation baby should have to do, he did this to save his mummy, who had severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome.
While mummy recovered quickly after delivering him, Brennan had a long 3 month struggle in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) at St Peter's Hospital until he was strong enough to finally come home. He came home on November 8, 2010 weighing 3kgs (one week after his due date).
Now, he is asking for your help in raising money for this incredible NICU who are the reason he is alive today. He received around the clock care from a fabulous team of doctors and nurses who not only helped him, but also supplied endless support to his mummy and daddy through such a difficult time.
9 months in, Brennan is almost 9kg (9 times his birth weight!) and a happy, healthy, thriving little boy. With the help of his mummy and daddy, he will be doing a 2.5mile walk around the hills of Painshill Park, hoping to give back something to the NICU.
We know times are tough right now and every penny helps. Also we realise this may not be the toughest challenge you've ever sponsored, but an 9 month old baby isn't ready for a sky-dive (just yet!). Please help Brennan reach his target!
