Thank you for visiting my online fundraising page.

Through running the Flora London Marathon on 17th April 2005 I am hoping to break the world record for raising the most money by an individual, from any marathon ever. I am attempting to raise more than £2 million for four charities that are very close to my heart; Brainwave, WellBeing of Women, The Prince's Trust and Leukaemia Research.

The final amount raised will be split evenly between the four charities.

At around the middle of 2004, I felt frustrated at a lack of direction in both my personal and professional life. I needed to change it to become truer to what I believed in and to find fresh challenges.

This led me straight to the Race for Millions.

In September 1999 my mother was critically injured when she was hit by a car while competing in a cycle race. This accident resulted in severe brain damage with only the ability to move her left arm. In honour of my mother, I want to use Race for Millions to raise money for four charities including Brainwave, which supports children who have both physical and cognitive disabilities. I believe that if raising money does some good, then raising the most does more and, by setting out to break the Marathon fundraising record, the surrounding publicity helps make the goal easier. About the four charities: Brainwave is a national charity, which supports children with physical and cognitive disabilities and developmental delay. www.brainwave.org.uk Reg. Charity No. 1073238 WellBeing of Women is a national charity and the only one in the UK funding research into all aspects of women's reproductive health. www.wellbeingofwomen.org.uk Reg. Charity No. 239281 The Prince's Trust exists to help young people to overcome their barriers and get their lives working through practical support. www.princes-trust.org.uk Reg. Charity No. 1079675 Leukaemia Research is the only national charity in the UK wholly devoted to funding vital research into leukaemia and related cancers of the blood. www.lrf.org.uk Reg. Charity No. 216032 Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The four charities named above will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now!
