Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In 2009 I'm taking on the biggest physical challenge of my life - running 26.2 miles in the London Marathon. Some might say it will also be the biggest mental challenge as I'll be training and running with Mr Rob Applin (if you know him you'll know what they mean!) Either way I'm ready for both bits and I'm doing it all in aid of Shelter.
Shelter believes everyone should have a home. Shelter helps people find and keep a home and campaigns for decent housing for all.
Shelter helps 170,000 people each year, through Housing Aid Centres and practical projects, a free housing advice helpline and by email.
Shelter campaigns for new laws and policies - as well as more investment - to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people, now and in the future.
In 2007 Shelter secured an historic government pledge to build 3 million homes, including affordable housing for families in desperate need. In the current uncertain economic climate Shelter's work is more important than ever as we see an increase in repossessions and recognise how we could all one day need the help a charity like Shelter offers everyone.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shelter gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I'll be running in various races between now and the big day as part of my training, plus I'll be holding fund raising events. I'll keep this page updated with my latest plans and pictures so keep popping back.
Thank you for your sponsorship.
