Funding the education of sons and daughters of Forces Personnel killed or wounded while serving their country

The Radley Armed Forces Fund, part of the Radley Foundation, is seeking to raise funds to finance secondary education at an independent boarding school for the sons and daughters of Service men or women killed while serving their country or discharged as a result of their wounds or injuries. Bursary Awards will be made available to the children of all ranks from all parts of the Armed Forces - regardless of whether they have Radley connections or not. The first two Bursary Awards will be named in honour of Lt Colonel Rupert Thorneloe MBE and Lieutenant Dougie Dalzell MC, both former pupils of Radley College and both killed in action in Afghanistan.

For further details on the Radley Armed Forces Fund please take a look at our website.

Case study: donations in action

Much work has now been done to publicise the Armed Forces Fund among Service personnel, and the hope is to have the first award made by next year. Downe House School and St Mary's Calne are joining us in this campaign: sons will come to Radley and daughters to one of these two well-known girls' schools. The Foundation is most grateful to those who have contributed and is very moved by the generosity of the donors for this worthwhile cause.
