The charity:
Harlington Hospice Association, in the borough of Hillingdon, is a charity that provides cares and supports for people with illnesses. This charity has to raise £1 million a year from charitable activities.
The skydive event:
I am getting involved by taking part in a thrill, fun and breath- taking experience by freefalling from an aircraft, in a SKYDIVING EVENT. I will be falling from 10,000ft at a speed of 120mph!!
This will be an unforgettable canopy ride! The whole experience from take off to landing lasts about 25 minutes. I will experience 40 seconds of falling through and past clouds, before the parachute opens at about 5000ft where 5 minutes will be spent under the parachute, flying around in the air. When the canopy opens I will be allowed to steer and land!
When is the dive?
It takes place on the 9th May 2009 at Oxfordshire. skydive weston centre. It is a military-owned dropzone but is run by a civilian company (Skydive Weston) at weekends, which caters for both military and civilian jumpers. Weston has the biggest landing area of any dropzone in the UK and is currently flying the twin turbine Dornier G92, carrying 15 jumpers to 13,000ft in under 15 minutes.
SO...everyone can find something to get involved with and do their bit towards raising money. So please sponsor me now. All donations, as large or little are truly appreciated.
Thanks
