Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who dont know, I have been talked into running what will be my second Marathon (something that i swore i would never do again after completing my first in London in 2006) on Sunday 18th April by my good friend (using the term loosely!) Joe Wynn. This time it is the inaugural Brighton Marathon, where Joe and I will be raising money for the wonderful children's charity Touraid which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children in the UK and around the world (see link to the left).
For those of you who do know, I am not really running material and carry far too much timber to seriously run the 26.2 miles around the streets of Brighton without the possibility of some sort of cardiac event (or causing major damage to the roads and pavements of the surrounding areas!). That, and given the fact that when i do train i tend to fall over a lot, or get bitten by snakes (see 2nd photo - I never get bored of telling that story as those who know me will testify!) leads to the inevitable conclusion that this could possibly be the last thing that I do. If this were the case, wouldn't you feel guilty in the knowledge that you hadn't even sponsored me prior to my demise? (although in such an event, posthumous donations would be accepted!)
So in all seriousness, I would really appreciate anthing that you can spare to pledge to this wonderful cause that is so beneficial to the lives of countless children in the UK and abroad, and meeting my target of £500 and beyond would go a long way to helping me through the inevitable aches and pains on the day (along with the justification for the post-race ambulance).
