Ray Creek passed peacefully away on the 29th January 2009.
Ray was a treasured granddad, father, brother and friend who touched the hearts of so many. He will be sadly missed not just by his family, but also the many friends who have given him comfort and support over the years.
It's never easy to watch the health of someone you care about deteriorate. The staff at the Arthur Rank clearly understood that caring for their patient also meant caring for the family and friends too. Nothing appears too much trouble for the staff - always ready to help, provide advise or simply sit and listen.
Whilst the care provided by the Arthur Rank for Ray is now at an end, their work goes on supporting the many other patients and families in similar situations. The level of support provided by the Arthur Rank is made possible by the additional contributions made to the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
We would ask that instead of that beer you would have brought him at the club, the birthday present, or the flowers at the funeral you consider making a donation to the work of the Arthur Rank Charity in his memory so that others can have the support he did.
Ray was looked after wonderfully during his time in Addenbrooke's and Papworth Hospitals, but it was the staff at the Arthur Rank that made sure that his last days were comfortable and dignified.
To find out more why not take a look at their charity website at http://www.arthurrankhospicecharity.co.uk/ or at http://www.arthurrankhouse.nhs.uk/
