As many of you will know this year will be the 4 annual memorial golf day in remembrance of my cousin and friend Raymond Fowler. For many of you who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Raymond the golf day is a great excuse to raise money for charity and have a round of golf so I thought it appropriate to pen a few lines about the man himself.
On 13 September this year it will be 6 years since Raymond lost his fight against cancer aged only 29, he was one of life’s true characters along with being stubborn and set in his ways he was a great family man and for those who knew Ray and the size of his heart you know he’d do anything for his friends and family. Raymond worked with a passion at Dulwich Golf Club and I know to this day his massive personality and expertise are still missed at the club. Originating from Liverpool he was a massive reds fan and to say he loved football club was an understatement, he lived for them and didn’t we know it.
Earlier this year I was introduced to the Geoff Thomas Foundation and was taken back by the tireless work the foundation has carried out for a cause that is close to me and my family. Geoff himself is a true inspiration and with the help of Becky has raised thousands, following a quick word with my family it was an easy decision to make and I look forward to raising as much money as possible for the foundation.
