Story

We are extremely pleased to announce that we successfully completed the 24 Peaks in 24 hours challenge.

It was an extremely tough challenge with unforgiving weather conditions that unfortunately delayed Saturdays start. It also meant that, for the first time in the 10 years the event has been running, the Day 1 route could not be followed due to dangerously high winds. After this disappointment Sunday was business as usual, and in true Lakeland style it rained and gusted all day long.

We are also delighted to inform you all that the Re-Thinking team was awarded the Top Fundraising Team trophy, for raising the most money for the event.

We would like to thank you all for supporting us in raising so much money for the Red Cross.

We’ve set ourselves a challenge – and we’re going to set you one too!

In August Re-Thinking are embarking on the ’24 Peaks Challenge’ in the Lake District.

Isn’t it the ‘3 Peaks’ you ask – no, this is 24.  And in 24 hours!

Yes, that’s average of 1 peak an hour and the height climbed is 13,133ft – that’s nearly half way up Everest!  The highest peak climbed will be Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.

Luckily we are allowed to put our 24 hours on hold for a few hours sleep.

So on to the challenge we’re setting you!  We have until August to prepare for this challenge which will involve a gruelling training regime.  We need some motivation to get through this (as well as the challenge itself!) – and that motivation is going to be the thermometer above.  Please be generous and help it along!

It would be incredible motivation to know we were raising money for such an important, worthwhile and courageous cause.  So, please, dig deep and be generous.  Any donations will be gratefully received.

This site is safe and secure.  Make sure you include Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer - the Red Cross get more money that way.

We look forward to keeping you updated and if you fancy joining us on any training trips, let us know!  We also have Matt Garner on board from Re-Thinking Communications to document the adventure!
