On Wednesday 23rd June 2010 at 10:15am Dips (middle), Mehul (right) and Pratik (left) sucessfully conquered Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania by reaching the summit 'Uhuru' at 5,895m (19,335 ft).
Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free-standing mountain. The climb required a strong frame of mind to be able to handle sub-zero temperatures, tremendous motivation and months of training to obtain a good level of physical fitness.
THE CAUSE
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice support life-limited children and their families in North London. These children do not have the gift of time. They have a whole spectrum of conditions (the majority being progressive, genetic disorders) and therefore have a whole range of needs.
Noah’s Ark provides respite care in the families’ homes with a play specialist, nursery nurse, youth and play specialist and family support volunteers.
