In July I am going to be undertaking the lengthy journey from John O-groats to Landsend. The whole 874 miles.....on a bike!
It is for my own record of personal acheivment that I will take on the challenge over a ten 10 day spinning period. But I am doubling my efforts with support for my daughter who leads a charity in Huddersfield, in support of her fundraising efforts I am asking for you to sponsor me and donate toward the valuable cause.
The work of READ Book Project Huddersfield is in contact with local schools of Yorkshire, who donate old textbooks and classroom supplies that can be put to use in Tanzania where they have only 1 textbook between 15 children. As a group of volunteers they have been collecting books since September and aim to have 25,000 to be sent out in June. It costs £7,500 for the container to be transported and processed through customs, the girls themselves are funding their own transport to meet the books in Africa, where they will then spend 6 weeks hand-delivering the books to 20 schools across the most poverty stricken region of Tanzania.
If you would be kind enough to donate then your generosity will help the girls to get the container to Africa. They have been fundraising all year, but there is a large portion left that we can do something about!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor: Recycling Education Allowing Development International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Every little bit makes a difference
