Personal message:

Welcome to the READ International fundraising page.  We see a world where young global citizens achieve development through the power of education.  We deliver collaborative, student-led initiatives to improve access to education across the world and increase youth participation in the global community.

The READ Book Project is our flag ship project.  We redistribute disused educational resources from the UK to the developing world.  It never costs us more than 50 pence to send one text book to Tanzania.  In August 2008 we will be sending 247,500 textbooks to 220 Tanzanian secondary schools.  Each text book is worth £11 in Tanzania so we will generate £2,722,500 of value.

The READ School Project has been established to expand upon the success of our UK school presentation work within the READ Book Project model.  Our volunteers will go into secondary schools to open young peoples minds to the positive impact that social enterprise, volunteering, and global citizenship can have on tackling world issues.
