Story
I DID IT!!!!
I cycled all the way from London to Paris. It was hard, there were many hills but it was a thrilling experience. The first day was difficult but an experience, just like everyday was and once we got to France i had no signal on my phone so could not update my page. We saw some fantastic sights and there was a great team spirit, everybody encouraged everybody and have made friends for life! Thank you for all your support! Rebecca.x
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Update: Today (Wed 3/6) - Day 1.
121 of us, from different parts of the country, raising money for many different charities, set off from Blackheath in London at 7:00am to cycle the 95 miles to Dover. Along hard day with lots of hills on the way. A couple of water and toilet stops and lunch, but with the knowledge that we had to be at the ferry well before 5:50pm.
Arriving in Calais we had a short ride to our hotel and hopefully we will now get a good nights sleep before we start again early tomorrow to cover our first 75 miles in France.
I will try and do an another update tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who has donated and been very supportive.

My name is Rebecca and my 19 year old brother was recently diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukaemia which only 5 in 1 million people get. He has been receiving care from the Teenage Oncology Unit at Alder Hey Hospital.
I am taking part in a 300 mile cycle from London to Paris in June 2009 and I must raise a minimum of £1,250 in sponsorship to enable me to take part in this event. From this amount the tour costs are taken out and then the rest will be given to the Charity.
I am aiming to raise the sum of £3,500.00.
This charity cycle is something I feel very passionately about particularly because I have first hand personal experience of the effects of Leukaemia on sufferers and their families and the amazing work carried out by the Teenage Oncology Unit at Alder Hey Hospital and I wonder if you would be kind enough to make a small donation towards this.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alder Hey Imagine Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you.
