My story

Thanks for taking the time to donate to The Regulators 2012 Dumball Rally Fundraiser.

On the 25th of May 2012, Cuong Lu, Chris Dugan and I, along with another 150 like minded people that really should know better, will embark on an adventure which will take us across 2725 miles, from Brighton to the Black Sea, and everywhere in between as  participants of The 2012 Dumball Rally.

We are going to drive a £400 banger for thousands of miles, across 14 Countries, in the heat, over mountains, on boats, on trains, around land mines! We’re going to spend 75 per cent of an entire week sat on on our bums in fancy dress in a ramshackle car in extremely unfamiliar surroundings. It’s a’ marmite’ experience – some love it, some hate it – and it can be brown and messy at times. Whatever happens - It’s going to be very very tough.
Why are we putting ourself through this? FOR CHARITY, THAT’S WHY!

With a healthy spirit for adventure, we undertake this task with the aim of benefitting a more than worthy charity organisation, The Teenage Cancer Trust. To learn more about how important this organisation is to the lives of teenagers with cancer, please have a look at the link below. They are a truly inspiring organisation, and we are honoured to be able to do a small bit to help their cause.

We will be running a few randomly inspired events that will be both ridiculous and fun, leading up to the big send off on the 25th May.

Details of these events  will be announced in due course, however in the meantime, any donation that helps us reach our modest target of£2000 will be received with a million thanks and a promise to, at the very least, bring a smile to your face in our quest to blast through our target.

Every day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. At Teenage Cancer Trust, we understand that cancer doesn’t stop these teenagers being teenagers. We know that young people have a much better chance if they are treated by teenage cancers experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we have created specialist units that aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. And we want every young person with cancer in this country to have that chance.
