Chris Eastman and Robert Teather are part of a small team taking part in an Iron Man distance Triathlon in the heart of Cumbria. Encompassing two of the hardest iconic Lake District challenges including the Fred Whitton Challenge and Wasdale Horseshoe Fell Race with an added few miles at the end after starting with a 2.4 mile swim in the deepest lake in England (Wastwater)
There will be a small support team helping including Richard Eastman with an aim of raising money towards two causes:
Ella Mae Newell Trust, who is the daughter of Corporal Lloyd Newell, from the Parachute Regiment, who died in Afghanistan and passed away while she was only 9 weeks old.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team’s mission is to: save life and alleviate distress in hostile and mountainous areas Supporting the emergency services and local community whenever and wherever our skills can be put to best use.
The Team operates in a geographical area that covers principally the Wasdale and Eskdale valleys but extends over Cold Fell towards the coast in the north and onto Ulpha Fell in the South. England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike is part of our area and is the scene for many rescues and is another more than worthy cause for this event.
