Chris Eastman and Robert Teather are part of a small team taking part in an Iron Man distance Triathlon in the heart of Cumbria.  Encompassing two of the hardest iconic Lake District challenges including the Fred Whitton Challenge and Wasdale Horseshoe Fell Race with an added few miles at the end after starting with a 2.4 mile swim in the deepest lake in England (Wastwater)
There will be a small support team helping including Richard Eastman with an aim of raising money towards two causes:

Ella Mae Newell Trust, who is the daughter of Corporal Lloyd Newell, from the Parachute Regiment, who died in Afghanistan and passed away while she was only 9 weeks old.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team’s mission is to: save life and alleviate distress in hostile and mountainous areas Supporting the emergency services and local community whenever and wherever our skills can be put to best use.

The Team operates in a geographical area that covers principally the Wasdale and Eskdale valleys but extends over Cold Fell towards the coast in the north and onto Ulpha Fell in the South. England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike is part of our area and is the scene for many rescues and is another more than worthy cause for this event.

Corporal Lloyd Newell was fatally wounded whilst in operations in Helmand Province Afghanistan on 16 June 2011.  Lloydy is a giant among men and I had the privilege of having him as a life long friend.  He was a wonderful husband and father to a beautiful daughter.  Lloyd loved his job and made the ultimate sacrifice doing it.  His passing has left an enormous hole in the lives of everyone that knew him.  In honour of this, myself and the other lunatics are going to complete the Para 10.  We are doing this for three wonderful charities.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and my thanks in advance for sponsoring the team and keeping Lloydy's memory alive as we do.

Last year myself and 17 others completed the Paras10 challenge in catterick, then some completed Colchester and we raised a fantastic amount of money. This year i have signed up to do 2 more. The first is in Aldershot on 9th march then Colchester in July. I feel by doing this we are giving something back, its only a small price to pay for what these men and women sacrifie for us. It was a great sense of pride last year and am aiming to build on this and help to continue to raise money for this wonderful cause

Thank you for taking the time to read this, my thanks in advance for sponsoring the team and for keepling Lloyd's memory alive as we do.
