Robin Hood Marathon · 22 June 2008

Since 2002, the Tag Rugby Trust has worked in 8 countries around the world. Post Covid, our focus is very much in Zimbabwe. We use rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” through social outreach programmes in the community. Sustainability and local ownership are central pillars to our approach.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm afraid I'm the latest in the seemingly never-ending line of people asking for your money.

After a few years of sustained physical decline, I've decided to do something about it and raise some money for a good cause while I'm at it.  I'm entered in Nottingham's Robin Hood Marathon on Sunday 14 September.  I have been in training for a while and have got as far as completing a half marathon.

Being a firm believer in the power of sport to have a positive impact on the lives of young people, I settled on the Tag Rugby Development Trust as my chosen charity.

TRDT are a unique charity that introduces primary school children in developing countries to Tag Rugby through volunteer tours that build a positive legacy through local involvement and UK support.  They are currently expanding the number of tour locations, having previously concentrated their work in Uganda, Zambia and India.

By donating some of your hard earned cash you can help TRDT make a difference to the lives of children and their communities in some of the world's most challenging environments through the power of sport.

It would be great if you could spare me some pennies (unless you're a city whizz-kid, in which case I'll expect pounds)

Thanks!

Rex
