Why am i going to China and trek the great wall
On April 5 1990 I was involved in a RTA.....Coach vs bicycle” I was on a bicycle” I spent weeks in a hospital bed after an operation. I met a man who had both his legs amputated (his name I forget) and yet he had such strength of mind and positive outlook on life.One thing I remember about him is that he was the only one on the ward to get out of bed for his meals.I was fortunate to have a TV and watched the 1990 London Marathon with him and said to him that one day I would do it. Due to my injuries the doctors said that this would never be possible, and stick to just walking.
Now some 19/20yrs later I feel that I must do something in a way to uphold that pledge, and plan to trek 63kms of the Great Wall of China in 5 days (not including traveling to and from) to say thank you for my leg!!!!!!
