Story
Did you hear Prince Harry talk about the two severely wounded men who were on the plane with him when he returned from Afghanistan? You may have thought, "why don’t we hear more of these people". The truth is that we barely hear of those who are killed but each week a steady stream of young men and women are returning from operational theatres with devastating injuries. Our battlefied medics are quite simply superb and many soldiers survive when only a few years ago they would not have. However this leaves a huge need in the for proper facilities to help these young people come to terms with their injuries and the trauma that goes with it.
So, around 300 of us are getting into lycra (yes, hold that image) and pounding our way for up to 80 miles a day. It will be a truly moving experience as we are being joined by limbless and blind servicemen as well as the families of those killed and wounded. Any pain we feel will be numbed by the sacrifice of these people.
We would be so grateful if you could sponsor us for this important cause. You can do this through this justgiving page: or by sending us a cheque made out to "Help for Heroes".
Thank you so much for your support.
