This summer I'm travelling to Uganda to teach in schools with a group of students from Bristol. The schools are in Northern Uganda, which has been ravaged by Africa's longest running internal conflict. Many of the children we will be teaching have been displaced or orphaned by the war. Some were even forced into becoming child soldiers.
We want to take out teaching materials to help improve the schools. We also want to help build new facilities for the schools. One of the schools we will vist has only temporary structures with grass roofs, meaning that when it rains, school is rained off. To help improve the schools we need to raise money and this is where you come in!
This May I'm running the Bristol 10K and then in June I'm undertaking the epic journey to cycle the length of the UK from John o' Groats to Lands End to raise money for these causes. Any money for sponsorship goes staight to helping the children in Uganda and not a penny goes to some middle man or to funding my own travel arrangements. So please sponsor me!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bristol-Bweyale Action Project gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated and will go towards what I'm sure you'll agree is a very worthy cause.
