Thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page. It's greatly appreciated!

CWB is a UK-based charity dedicated to helping and educating local communities around the world through the development of cricket, whilst also raising awareness of HIV/Aids.

In October 2008 I spent a fortnight with CWB in Kenya. As part of a team of seven volunteers I helped to train 100 student teachers at Kericho Teachers College, and 300 primary and secondary pupils at both government and independent schools.  In addition, I helped to assess 12 future coaches for the award of the ICC Level 1 Coaching Certificate in Cricket, and delivered HIV/AIDS awareness training to all.

My sponsors helped me to raise over £5,500 for this project, the money being used for:

- Cricket and coaching equipment and transportation, e.g. Kwik Cricket sets, 'traditional' equipment, coaching cards, etc.

- AIDS awareness materials, e.g. T-shirts/caps for the children/coaches/participants, containing cricket and AIDS awareness messages.

-Transportation of and accommodation for coaching staff within Africa during coaching sessions.

(Flights, living and personal expenses were paid for by the volunteers themselves.)

I hope to return to Kenya next year to see how this project has developed, or perhaps to participate in one of the other projects to Rwanda, Uganda or Botswana.

It would be great if you felt able to support me.  To enable them to monitor how much I'm raising, CWB have requested that any contributions go through my own dedicated webpage -  www.justgiving.com/richardlynn - which also allows Gift Aid to be sorted out as necessary.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Cricket Without Boundaries Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you so much for sponsoring me in this really worthwhile cause.  For further details about the charity's work, do please visit www.cricketwithoutboundaries.com.
