Our friend and colleague Richard M Elliott, the BIll Jarrett Chair of Infectious Diseases at the University of Glasgow, passed away prematurely at the age of 61 in June 2015 after a short and severe illness. 

We all miss Richard very much and to honour him and his work we have established the Richard M Elliott Memorial Lecture. The lecture was established in 2016 and so far has been given annually at the Glasgow Virology Workshop. In the future, the lecture will take place at a Microbiology Society meeting in the UK. 

We are approaching friends and colleagues of Richard's in order to establish a fund that will be used to support the costs of travel, attendance & subsistence for a  meritorious scientist to present the lecture.
