We never actually saw in it’s entirety before the climb – which was probably a good thing. And even though we knew there was a possibility - the snow was still a bit of a surprise.
Scafell was despatched with in just over 3 hours, which we were all relieved about as we got down a very steep and slippery mountain just before dark.
We then started at , in the rain. As it happens, not as bad as it sounds; there was a certain novelty to six blokes with head torches on the side of a mountain at four in the morning…
It was very hard going, extremely tiring but also good fun - and Nurofen certainly helped.
