Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Having reached the ripe old age of 40, I've been going through a bit of a mid life crisis. One of the consequences is trying to get more fit than fat. Stupidly I did a half marathon back in 2002 and I vowed never again to go through such pain....until I was conned into doing the Great North Run last year (thanks Gillespie!). It got worse....my eldest brother then did the 2007 London marathon.....I had 'run' out of excuses...... I hope to retire from physical exercise on the 14th April except for lifting pint glasses, so please sponsor me now!
I am raising money for Samaritan's Purse International, a Christian charity, best known for it's annual shoe box appeal 'Operation Christmas Child' (my sister-in-law helped start the appeal). Money raised from my marathon effort will go towards projects such as the bio-sand water filters provided in countries such as Mozambique and Liberia. One such water filter, needing no maintenance or chemical replacement, provides safe water for an entire family for life, at a cost of just £40. I would be most grateful if you could reward my efforts by giving generously, so that I can help Samaritan's Purse make a difference in the lives of people suffering through no fault of their own.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Samaritan's Purse International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
