On 18th June 2006 Vyv and Elsa Wood-Gee are setting off on their two geriatric Fell ponies to ride from the tip to the toe of Britain.  This will be the ultimate endurance test for Lancer (aged 20) and Rowan (aged 16 and in foal), not to mention a real test of the relationship between a mother and her 13 year old daughter!

We have chosen to do this ride to try and help the many people who don't have a choice in going through cancer treatment or coming to terms with family and friends having  died from cancer.  Cancer need not be a death sentence.  Screening, earlier detection and improved treatments have all increased survival rates. In 1970 about half those diangosed with breast cancer survived for 5 years, now the figure is 80%.
