We support Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff families to help them cope with a diagnosis

Story

Ride 2 Recovery II is the follow up to our hugely successful event in 2009 when we raised over £100,000 for Aspire, Spinal Research and Oli Hemsley, a young Arts student who suffered a brutal knife attack in London, losing much movement below the shoulders as a result of his injuries.  Ride2Recovery has returned to continue to support Aspire and the fantastic rehabilitation work carried out by their team and you can find out more about this great work at www.aspire.org.uk/, but in addition, another fantastic charity in the CATS (Cure and Action for Tay Sachs) Foundation.

Tay Sachs is a rare and fatal progressive neurological genetic disorder which in most instances affects the very young.

Amelie is a little girl diagnosed with Tay Sachs in March 2011 when she was 15 month old.  CATS Foundation was formed by Amelie's parents, Patricia and Dan to raise awareness of the disease and to provide fund raisining opportunities so that a potential treatment can be found.  Please find out more about this rare condition by visiting their website http://www.cats-foundation.org/.  Any and all donations would be hugely welcomed.

The Cure and Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation was created to raise awareness and support families affected by Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff. They are both terminal illnesses in children where those affected by the infantile form usually lose their battle against the disease by the age of 5.
