Royal Enfield Ride For DebRA
Fundraising for DEBRA
Story
Hi, my name is Geoff Danher, and on the 4th and 5th April 2005 I am going to ride my Royal Enfield Bullet 1500 miles in 36 hours to raise funds for the charity DebRA. http://www.debra.org.uk
DebRA, while receiving no funding from the government, gives help and support to both the sufferers of EB and their families. The charity also funds all the research into finding a cure for the condition, trains specialist nurses and offers advice to local GPs who have no experience of EB, plus much more. All financed by donations, which is where you come in of course!
My contribution is all my costs as well as my time plus months of preparing and getting fit, mentally and physically, to do the run. You must agree, this is not the ideal motorcycle to use! This will be the single hardest ride of my life and I am sure it would have been easier for me to do it 30 years ago! But I wanted a special challenge in order to raise funds for a very special charity.Your contribution, however small, is very important to DebRA. For example it costs £150 per day for a researcher. Now I know that's a lot of money, but it does not take very many small donations to reach that figure and you would have helped bring the end of this terrible, painful and debilitating condition one day closer. You can make a real and important change for EB sufferers.
