Education is the key to self-determination in life. Take this opportunity to help our learners in South Africa reach their fullest potential. The RISE Foundation's premiere campaign, the We Are Together Education Programme, supports quality education for 50 children featured in the award-winning RISE Films documentary, WE ARE TOGETHER. This covers school fees, supplies, uniforms and other costs, ensuring that the children of Agape can focus on reaching their academic goals. Just £5 per week for one year (less than £300) pays for one academic year of a child’s education. That is less than two coffees per week or one day’s bought lunch. Since our programme began we have witnessed incredible growth in the children’s English fluency, achievement levels, aspirations and overall confidence.
Case study: donations in action
Slindile Moya, featured in We Are Together, has just completed her first of two years at Elangeni College and is well on her way to becoming certified as a chef. CONGRATULATIONS SLINDILE!!! Word from the Blue Roof is that Slindile is working very hard and learning a great deal in her work placement. This year she will be taking business and marketing classes and be placed in a kitchen in Kwazulu-Natal for work experience.
