Why your donation matters
When he was 6, Fred's mum died from HIV/AIDs and he went to live with his Dad. Tragically, his Dad was also sick, and he had to nurse him until he died a year later. Fred moved to his Uncle's, where he found life ver difficult. He decided to run away, still only aged 7.
He walked 67km to Masaka where he ended up on the streets, carrying luggage, cooking food and stealing to fund a drugs habit. He was there 3 years, until he joined us in 1999. He's responded brilliantly to our mix of quality education, mentoring and provision of a safe and secure home, and this year he has started university, a man competent and confident to take his place in the world!
