Story

"NO PAIN, NO GAIN...IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE."

On Sunday 26th April 2009 I will be taking part in the London Marathon.  I am running for MS Research for 2 reasons.  Firstly, for many years my great Auntie has suffered with the condition and members of my family have represented MS Trust over the years.  Secondly, earlier this year, my brother Gareth, who at the time was only 20, was diagnosed with the condition.  I vowed that despite enjoying my running " I would never run a marathon." However, my brother has been an inspiration.  He has taken everything in his stride and takes neccessary steps through the help of MS Trust research to avoid relapsing and having to take time off work.  I can't thank the doctors and nurses that he has seen enough.  From the local GP to Glan Clwyd hospital and people at MS Trust.  All I can say is that my brother leads a normal life, coming to the football with me, and then being dragged around the shops by his wonderful girlfriend.  Considering when he has suffered a relapse I have seen that he can barely make it to the end of the drive, to what he does now I find it amazing and his attitude is incredible.   Running the marathon for MS Trust will be something special.  Its a challenge for me to raise such a large amount of money and run 26.2 miles, but I think it is worth it because I am very proud of how my brother has handled dealing with the issues that come with MS.  Running the Flora London marathon on Sunday April 26th, 2009 is something I know I can do because I draw strength from seeing the determination my brother Gareth has.

If I could write the cheque for £2,000 now for MS Trust believe me I would, but this is a plea that I need the help of every single one of you.  Those of you who live locally will see me out on the roads training, months and months of work goes into this on and off the training.  Please cheer me on and keep me going, the help and support I received for the Great North Run was amazing and I thank every single one of you for that.  I am grateful for any donation I receive for what is a cause that is very close to my family's hearts.

Thanks for visiting my page.
