Story
Hey guys,
So, after a couple of nail biting months of injury induced inaction I am back on track and ready to run the Paris Marathon, my first ever marathon!
Training will be gruelling and unforgiving, especially in these cold, dark winter months and the marathon itself will be a 42.195km slog through the city of Paris but I be not fased!
Seeing as this is the first Marathon I have run I am not expecting to get first place, either second or third will be fine, although, to be honest, if I am not on the podium at the end of the race I will be disappointed....
I am running in aid of Envision, a charity for whom I have had the pleasure of working for the last 5 months. I've been running around the schools of Leeds helping 6th formers set up social, environmental or community projects and it has been such a pleasure to see and be part of the impact that Envision makes on Young peoples outlooks and attitudes, as well as the decisions they will make later in life.
Envision was set up 10 years ago in London by 4 Young people who wanted to enable and empower young people to make a difference in their local communities as well as on bigger issues. Since then the charity has gone from Strength to strength, expanding to Birmingham, then Leeds in 2009 and now has Bristol and Newcastle in the pipeline.
Any donation you could spare would be greatly appreciated and would make a valuable contribution towards our current work with thousands of young people across the country as well as expansion of operations to new areas where demand for our work is high.
Thank you all very much,
Robbie Packer
