My story
Based in Robbie's home town of Stoke-on-Trent, The Donna Louise Children's Hospice (known as Treetops to its children) provides respite and end of life care to children with life threatening conditions and support for the whole family.
2009 marked the tenth birthday of the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust, but the celebration of ten years of wonderful work were overshadowed by a desperate need to raise money just to keep the doors of Treetops open - it costs around £2 million each year to provide this vital service, and 85% of that has to come from voluntary donations.
2009 also marked Robbie's return from three years in the musical wilderness, and to celebrate the news RWFU decided to make its next appeal more personal to our man, and to the children and their families who so desperately need our help.
As a patron of the trust, our boy has naturally thrown his support behind them - this is what he had to say back in February 2009 "Ay up! Being a Stoke lad I am very proud to be a patron of the Donna Louise Children's Hospice. It is a very special place for which we should all be proud and grateful.
"The whole place was built through the generosity of the people of Staffordshire and South Cheshire and now it is really struggling and needs our help. The hospice can't exist without your support... every bit helps so please do what you can"
By April 2010, you wonderful people had smashed through the second target of £2500, and RWFU made the decision to keep this appeal open indefinitely.
We have tried to get the message across in the now obligatory video! but to learn more about how much your donation will mean to everybody involved with Treetops, please visit the charity's website at http://www.donnalouisetrust.org/
Donations start at just £2, and as Robbie said, every bit helps, so please do what you can - remember too that when you make your donation, you can leave a message for Treetops and its patron! On behalf of RWFU, Treetops, and most importantly the children and their families - thank you :)
Robbie Gets Behind Treetops Again
Following on from his statement in February, Robbie has now narrated a short video in support of the Treetops appeal. RWFU hopes to bring the video to you very soon, but in the meantime, please visit robbiewilliams.com to watch the video - and we defy you not to come straight back here and donate...

The Media Pick Up On Our Appeal!
Robbie fans back hospice
FANS of Robbie Williams are raising money for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust.
Members of Robbie Williams Fansites United, which was formed last year, are backing the Trentham Lakes-based hospice after hearing their idol talk about the charity's 10th birthday, which was celebrated earlier this month. The group has set up on an online sponsorship page and is promoting the work of the hospice in Robbie forums.
Last year, the fansites raised almost £2,000 for Unicef and the British Heart Foundation on Robbie's behalf.
Geraldine Knott , of Bristol, said: "The fansites wanted to do something specific for Robbie and with this being in Stoke-on-Trent, it seemed a good cause."

Treetops Forced To Close Its Doors Two Nights A Week
As the credit crunch continues to squeeze, the Donna Louise Trust has seen a drop off in the level of donations. The trust relies on charitable donations for its very survival, and the direct impact of the drop in donations is that Treetops has had to close its doors for two nights a week.
We can't allow this situation to get any worse than it already is - please do everything you can to help us keep Treetops open 24/7 for the children and their families who rely on this important and wonderful place so much.

Robbie Says Thank You!
So it's official - Robbie knows just how hard you are all working to help Treetops, and has used his blog this week to say thank you - which is nice! Read what he had to say here
Keep up the good work, you proactive buggers!

CONGRATULATIONS - YOU DID IT!
As of this morning the total raised for Treetops stands at £1100 - you did it, the first target has been smashed!
But we're not the kind of people to quit while we're ahead - we're going to roll with this new momentum which Mr Williams himself kick started.
We've set a new target of £2500 - can we kick it? We're hoping the resounding answer will be "YES WE CAN!"
Robbie Williams has the BEST fans!
January 2010 - Happy New Year!
At the time of writing, you wonderful, wonderful people have helped us to raise almost £2000 for Treetops, which is absolutely incredible, especially in these troubled times.
To everybody who has already donated, thank you again! and for those still to add their name to the list - what are you wating for?!

The Sentinel Picks Up On Our Appeal Again As The £2500 Target Is Smashed - Well Done You!
Robbie Williams Fans Help Smash Target For Donna Louise Trust
ROBBIE Williams fans have smashed a fund-raising target for a charity the singer supports.
Members of Robbie Williams Fansites United set out to raise £500 for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice, at Trentham Lakes.
But, after the Tunstall-born star mentioned the initiative in a blog, donations to the fund-raising website flooded in from all over the world generating more than £2,500.
Members of the group have now decided to make fund-raising for the cause a permanent thing.
Member Christina Royal, aged 44, from Suffolk, who led the fund-raising, said: "That hospice does fantastic work so we feel we have to get the word about it out there.
"The fund-raising should have finished this month but we're going to keep going."

We're raising the bar again!
With the first play of the new single imminent, the Greatest Hits on its way, and a whole year full of Robbie to look forward to, we are getting excited! and it seemed like the right time to remember those children who aren't so fortunate. With this in mind, we've raised the Treetops fundraising target to £3500. We know people are saving for the Tour Fund! but remember, donations start at just £2 - that's the price of a bottle of water at a concert venue...

Countdown To Christmas!
With just one month to go until the Big Day, RWFU is today launching the Countdown To Christmas appeal for Treetops!
We caught up with Melanie Mills, head of fundraising at the hospice, who had this to say
"We are now on the BIG PUSH to open 24/7 and are hoping to achieve this in early 2011. But this brings with it cost committments of £160,000 on average each month, and with economic recovery slow, this is a big step to take.
We understand that there is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty over job security for some people, and that the VAT increase will have an impact on people. But we are pleading with people not to forget that we cannot run this vital service for children and families without their help.
If you feel you have to give less, that's fine, but please don't stop giving, no matter how little. We need every penny to help make every moment count for life threatened children. RWFU can be part of helping us open our doors every day and for us to be there for children and families whenever they need us!"
The current total raised by all of you lovely Robbie fans is £2950 which is amazing - let's see if we can make our own Big Push towards the next target of £3500!
Donations start from just £2 - as Melanie says, we know this is an expensive time in an already financially squeezed situation for everybody - but every penny really does count.
Thank you for listening - now click on that donate button!

The Progress Party Smashed It!
The Progress Party held around the world on 26th November was a HUGE success! Everybody taking part smashed through the £4500 target, and at the last count, the event raised almost £1000 for Treetops!
On top of that, a great night was had by all; it was a win-win situation all round. Huge thanks to everybody who made it possible :)

Happy Birthday £2 You!
It's that time of year again, and to celebrate Robbie's birthday, his fans were invited to join together in sending him birthday messages and gifts in the form of donations to our favourite childrens' hospice.
In true Robbie-fan style, the donations poured in, and the £5000 target was smashed - so we put it up to £5500! Onwards and upwards, for the kids!
