My story
Hello and thank you for visiting my just giving page.
When i was 22yrs old my mum died after a really long battle with cancer, 23yrs on and i am still inspired everyday by her courage and determination. Another woman who displayed amazing courage and determination was Jane Tomlinson and her husband Mike has invited me to take part in this monstrous challenge to mark ten years of Janes appeal. Therefore i plan to split all monies raised 50/50 between the Leeds Rugby Foundation and Janes appeal.
The challenge!
Well we start with the Paris marathon on the 15/4/2012. We then cycle for 6 days, approximately 800 kilometres, via Zeebrugge and Hull to end up in London on Saturday 21/4/2012 ready to run the London marathon the next day Sunday 22/4/2012!!! Quite an effort!!!
I am very honoured to be a trustee of the Leeds Rugby Foundation and this allows me to witness personally the amazing work they do positively changing peoples lives through the power of Sport in Leeds and West Yorkshire. I can assure people who sponsor my challenge that your donation will be used to best effect to enable vulnerable and dis-advantaged young people to improve their chances in life.
The Leeds Rugby Foundation staff team are an amazing, inspirational and dedicated group of people who are passionate about their work within the Leeds and West Yorkshire communities.
That same inspiration, dedication, and passion is what makes Mike Tomlinson a real star, continuing the amazing legacy that Jane started all those years ago. What an honour to be invited to take part in this challenge with him in Olympic year and help raise funds for such an amazing charity. My mum used to love watching the Olympics, glued to the TV and swooning when Daley Thompson was performing! I am hoping to put on a Gold medal performance for her in this challenge.

Well done to Hayley and Clifford deli on Street Lane , Leeds, the best there is!! They have raised a magnificent £268 for the challenge. Many thanks to all staff and customers.
Well it is all over, but the impact will continue. Many schools want me to come along to speak and inspire their pupils and hopefully fund raise. Roundhay High have set the standard raising an incredible £1100 last friday on their non uniform day!!! Many Thanks!!!
Wow just collected £183.46 in the long bar at headingley after the mighty Rhinos beat Wakefield tonight. Many thanks to all who gave.
what can i say!!!! With only a couple of days to go before i head off to do the challenge it is so gratifying to see the support that i am getting. it is far too late to put in some extra training but seeing the fund raising total increase is worth an extra months training.
